Tennis Whites
Ken and I joined a private swim and tennis club in Philadelphia called The Germantown Cricket Club. It's on the national registry of historic places and was the original home to the U.S. Open, formerly called the National Tennis Championships. I took the kids to brunch on Sunday, and we look forward to doing the same when Nana and Papap are in town the last weekend of March. At my orientation, the youth tennis instructor lent me two racquets for Bryn and Luke, and Luke in particular, who usually shows no interest in any kind of athletic activities, including soccer that half of his class attends, seems interested in trying tennis. So this Friday we are going to try a clinic for 3- and 4-year-olds for Luke and one immediately following for 5- and 6-year-olds for Bryn. To play at GCC, one has to wear tennis whites. The instructor said the club is a bit lenient with respect to the kids' shoes, but I still needed to buy Luke a new pair of sneakers as his are all black. Here he is...in his tennis whites. I'll report back after the clinics on Friday...
