Luke's Birthday Week

On Monday I took Luke to his 2-year wellness visit. He's now 35 and 3/4 inches tall -- he grew five inches over the past year -- and weighs 33 lbs (confirm). The doctor assured me that his level of speaking, which has really taken off over the past few weeks, is on target for his age. She also dismissed any concerns about his crying when I drop him off at school -- said I'd experience some form of it for the next 18 years. (As an aside, he did beautifully at school today -- perhaps his best day yet.) Luke got two shots, and he did not take them well at all. He bawled the entire way back to the car, and I think he may have instilled some fear in a waiting room full of patients as we passed through on our way out.

On Tuesday I took cupcakes into Luke's classroom at school. I incorrectly noted in the previous post that he had no trouble blowing out the candle at his party when, in fact, Bryn had done it for him!
This time, however, Luke had an opportunity to blow out the candle all by himself, and he did so successfully on the third attempt.

Looks like fun! He seems to have really grown up a lot in these past few months. Sam cried almost everyday I dropped him off at school until kindergarten this year. He did ok last year when Paul did the drop off, not me.
