On Monday the kids and I went to Linvilla Orchards, which is about a half hour away, to pick strawberries. I had taken Bryn when she was Luke's age, but she had the attention span to pick just a couple of strawberries, so my expectations for this trip were low. This was also the first field trip with Luke in his big-boy underwear. When we got to the farm, Bryn and Luke were both excited to learn that we needed to ride in the tractor to get to the fields. The tractor came by every 10 minutes, and Luke was still engaged in picking strawberries 20 minutes into it. We got a ride back to our parking lot before either Bryn or Luke said that they were "all done" picking strawberries.

We stopped in the marketplace to use the potty, and then we went to the playground, which features a lot of trucks and other vehicles constructed of wood. Check out this version of "American Gothic."

The kids had a great time, and Luke had a day with no accidents. Today marks two days in a row without any accidents, so I'll have to come up with some other field trips that include Luke over the summer. We plan to go back to Linvilla Orchards in early July for blueberry picking.
