Bryn and her classmate, Ava, share the same birthday. Upon going to school on Friday, both girls were given paper crowns that said "Happy Birthday," and Bryn wore hers all day long, including to Elevation Burger where we went for dinner. For her birthday Bryn got an itouch from Nana and Papap; an artist's box with pastels, colored pencils, markers and other supplies from Nama; and ear rings from Mom and Dad to wear upon getting her ears pierced. After dinner, we ate Bryn's "six" cake, a tradition introduced to us by Nana Rowles.
Bryn had a joint birthday party with Ava at Sweet and Sassy, a salon where the girls got dressed up, got their hair styled and got their nails done, too. Then the girls paraded down a catwalk, one by one, and they did a bit of dancing, too, before heading into the cake room.

Bryn confided later that she didn't care for her Princess Lea hairstyle, but she still had fun at the party.

To celebrate the girls' birthday, we got pretzels in the shape of the number six -- only in Philadelphia! -- and Ava's grandmother made a cake in the shape of Hello Kitty.

Bryn's party looked like a blast! I'm looking forward to celebrating in Atlanta next weekend.
