I took B&L to the Mall one evening to meet with Santa. At 5:15 there was hardly a wait, and Luke went right up and rambled off his long list to Santa -- Death Star Lego set, Millennium Falcon Lego set, koala stuffed animal, ABC Superhero book, Mystery Machine and Obi Wan Kenobi jibbitts for his crocs....Bryn, on the other hand, did not speak with Santa because she said she didn't want anything specific and therefore didn't have anything to tell him. I tried to encourage her to talk about her interests more generally -- books, clothes, ear rings, etc. -- but she didn't feel comfortable with that. So only Luke spoke with Santa, and then we went to the food court for dinner. After dinner, Bryn changed her mind and said that she did want a chance to talk to Santa after all. By this time, however, Santa was on break, and a line was beginning to form for her his return at 6:30. We got in line around 6:10 or so, and waited about 25 minutes overall for Bryn to tell Santa that she didn't have anything particular in mind. Santa told her that a few surprises could probably be arranged, and Bryn seemed quite pleased with that response.
