"I Can Do It Myself"

We hear this refrain from Bryn multiple times a day -- in reference to opening a door, putting food in the microwave and starting the timer, getting dressed, etc. Luke felt a similar confidence in his abilities today after our water babies swim class at the YMCA. As I was carrying him up the stairs, back to the lobby, Luke reached for the ground and struggled to wrestle his way out of my arms. I had no choice but to put him down once we reached the front desk, and Luke just kept walking -- toward the exit, then on to the sidewalk, and holding my hand, through the parking lot to the car. This is the first time I haven't carried Luke to the car, but as he so ably demonstrated, he could do it himself.
