Bryn Meets the Mayor!

Bryn met the new mayor of Philadelphia, Michael Nutter, today.

Today was the last day for the recycling corner at 22nd and Spruce Streets, right by our old house in the city.
Ken used to volunteer at this collection site, which had been around for 20 years
and is responsible for recycling almost 8 million plastic bottles and 1,000 tons of paper. (The city is going to start collecting recyclables curbside.)

Early this afternoon Ken took Bryn with him to drop off our paper for the last time, and the volunteers told him that the mayor would be by later for the
farewell party and that Ken and Bryn should come back for it.

With an hour to kill Ken and Bryn went to the Please Touch Museum (Bryn by piggyback) and played for an hour.
Then they piggybacked back to the party where they sat through 10 boring speakers and decided to
leave because the mayor was running late. But, on their way out, they ran into the mayor
who said hi to Bryn and shook her hand when she said hi.
