We found a shaded patch of sidewalk on Main Street, and because the park wasn't overly crowded, we were able to view the parade without having to peer over someone else's shoulders. We left the park after the parade, around 4:00, and we looked forward to seeing Luke before he went to bed for the night. We ran into horrible traffic around Orlando. Despite four lanes in each direction, traffic came to a standstill on multiple occasions. Worse, wreckless drivers weaved between lanes, making the drive home a harrowing experience. We've decided that doing Disney in a day from St. Augustine is too much, so we don't plan to go back until Luke is older and we have reservations to stay overnight. All in all, I had a great time, and I think Bryn did, too.
The day after the Disney trip we visited the playground in town with the merry-go-round. The last time we were here, I had tried to put Luke on one of the carousel's horses, but he was too scared to ride. I wondered how Luke would fare this time around. Interestingly, Luke didn't seem to really enjoy the ride at first, but when the ride ended, he asked for more. You can see the trepidation in his face initially, and he really squeezed Ken's hand, but by our second visit to the merry-go-round, he had become a masterful rider. Maybe he'll join Bryn this summer in a real pony ride.
