Sleeping among Sharks

Thanks to Nana Rowles, who converted a couple of flat sheets into fitted crib sheets, Luke is now sleeping among sharks, or as he says, "dar," which, by the way, is also how he says "star" -- the pattern on the sheets that he inherited from Bryn. In a quick rundown of the weekend's events, Bryn touched the bottom of the pool during her swim class. She had done so before with Ken, but yesterday marked the first time that she touched the bottom with Ms. Alex. Yesterday Ken took the kids to the duck pond at Haverford College, and they were excited to see lots of blue gills, coy and catfish. Today Ken ventured out again with both Bryn and Luke -- this time to the Schuylkill River to watch high school crew races. These breaks gave me time to shower, buy the kids some books and toys to help keep them occupied on next week's flight to Florida, cook dinner, and get a manicure. :) Ken and I also had the pleasure of having dinner in town Saturday night with two friends from Penn at a hip new Indian restaurant. Luke's swim instructor, Katie Dempsey, babysat. We're sad that Katie will be unavailable this summer as she's going home to New York, but we'll count on her regularly during the upcoming school year -- her last at Villanova.
