We made it through Halloween -- just barely. Bryn has been
sick since three days leading up to Halloween, and unfortunately, she missed the parade at school, although she did come with
me, in costume, to watch Luke. Luke, meanwhile, was all smiles at the parade.
Despite saying all last month that he wanted to be a bat for Halloween, and despite receiving from Nana the coolest bat costume any of us has ever seen, Luke opted instead to
repeat last year's performance as a spider. He was one of four bugs in his class, although none are pictured here.

Friday evening we went to the annual costume parade in Narberth where two of the best costumes included a boy dressed as a Christmas tree and a girl dressed as an autumn tree with silk leaves
all over her shirt and a bird nest for a hat. With Motrin coursing through her veins, Bryn, a.k.a. Princess Belle, was fever-free and happy to be partaking
in the festivities.

On Halloween, Bryn was still running a fever when her medicine had worn off, and the day was marked by a steady, light rain. But there was a break in the precipitation right around 5:45, so the trick-or-treaters headed out.

They lasted an hour and a half -- rain ended the night, but not before collecting nearly 50 pieces of candy apiece. Next year Ken said they're doing without the wagon -- assuming everyone is healthy. As disappointing as it is to be sick on Halloween, we're hopeful that Bryn will be better in time for her birthday and upcoming trip to Florida in just five days.
