
The other night Bryn started writing addition problems on the chalkboard in the basement. She knew 50 + 50 = 100, but for the other addition problems, she wrote out dots for each number in the problem and then counted the total to determine the correct sums. Try to stump her; she's practically unstumpable! We then switched to subtraction, and she solves these problems by drawing dots for the first number, putting slash marks through the number that is being deducted, and then counting the number of remaining dots. Subtraction she can do, too!
