Almost Famous

Remember this picture? It was taken of Bryn, in St. Augustine, when she was six months old, and I had notepads made with this same image. Well, out of the blue, I received a call on Friday from a woman who works at PicPads, the company from which I had ordered the notepads (http://www.picpads.com). She said that this picture of Bryn, along with about 10 other submissions, was on their internal hall of fame -- quite an achievement, she remarked, considering that they've received more than 10,000 photographs. She was calling to ask whether I would give PicPads permission to use this photo in marketing materials or perhaps even in a new product, such as a calendar, that has yet to be developed. Flattered, I agreed to sign the release form, and in exchange, I'm being given -- drumroll, please -- a complimentary set of notepads. Not exactly a winning Powerball ticket, but I've already quit my day job. I'll look for a picture of Luke to submit to PicPads, and once I learn more about how the baby picture of Bryn is eventually used, I'll let you know.
