Luke's Birthday Party

This weekend was Luke's birthday party. Nama came up for it, arriving Saturday afternoon and spending the night before the party Sunday morning. Nama gave Luke a traffic light with a motion sensor on it.

We held Luke's birthday party at Smith Memorial Playground. Luke and his friends had a great time playing on the contemporary playground equipment for an hour before listening to a performance by Mr. Dave, the musician who comes to the kids' school once a week for music class.
As always, Mr. Dave was a crowd pleaser.

With a half an hour to go, it started raining. We were protected under a covered porch, but Luke got very upset and wanted to leave immediately. Ever since we got caught in an unexpected thunderstorm this summer, Luke has had a fear of the rain, even if there's no thunder or lightning associated with it. Sadly, we could not get Luke to regain his composure, so we handed out cupcakes without singing Happy Birthday or blowing out a candle.

So we did that part at home.

Add a long curly wig and Luke would be the spitting image of Troy!
