From time to time the kids say or do something that completely amazes me; capturing these vignettes is what prompted me to start this blog in the first place. I had one such experience on Friday as I was driving Bryn home from school, and we were on our way to the playground. It felt like spring with the temperature approaching 60 degrees, and Bryn said that she wanted her sunglasses. Without being prompted to do so, Luke reached beside his car seat to retrieve Bryn's sunglasses, which were resting inside the passenger door on his side of the car, and promptly gave them to her. Both Luke's comprehension of Bryn's request and his remembering that the sunglasses were near him really surprised me.
Bryn wore the sunglasses for a short while, and when she took them off, Luke fussed and pointed at the sunglasses; he wanted to wear them now that Bryn had had her turn. He clapped after he had managed to put them on his face all by himself, though they provided more protection to his cheeks than his eyes!
