Animals en Pointe

Today the four of us went to a picnic for the Pennsylvania Ballet that was held at Ardrossan, a 50-room Georgian mansion and 360-acre estate in Villanova. Now we need to rent "The Philadelphia Story" as Katharine Hepburn's character is based on Hope Montgomery Scott, the head of the family that lived in the estate for the better part of the past century. The private home is now on the market, so this was one of the last opportunities for the public to see it.

For the kids the event provided a juggler, craft table, banjo player of kids' songs (including, to Luke's delight, Elmo's Song), balloons, and above all else, Zoo on Wheels in which three zoo staff showcased different animals, including a turtle, owl, monitor lizard, dwarf crocodile, chicken, chinchilla, snake, ferret and giant Madagascar hissing cockroach, which Bryn held! All in all it was a fun event; the kids lasted there a full two hours!
