On Saturday afternoon we went, for the first time, to the Devon Horse Show. Begun in 1896, the Devon Horse Show is the oldest outdoor multi-breed horse show in the United States. We watched about four competitors compete, but as expected, Luke didn't have an attention span for the horse jumping. He was very good, though, and occupied himself by putting handfuls of pebbles from the paddock onto the bench where we were sitting. (Actually, I don’t think Bryn was interested in watching any more of the jumping, either.) We then went to the small carnival on the grounds. Given that rides required four tickets each, and Luke is now big enough to ride, too, I went through tickets very quickly! Luke went on the merry-go-round three times in a row,
