Getting Ready for Christmas

Nana and Papap came to visit the first week of December, and we promptly turned our attention to Christmas. First on our busy agenda was decorating gingerbread houses. Luke even tried piping the icing.
The next day B&L and I and Nana dragged Papap to the King of Prussia Mall so Bryn and Luke could see Santa. We were first in line, and both Bryn and Luke hopped right up onto Santa's lap without any hesitation. Bryn told Santa that she wanted a make up set, and she was taken off guard when he asked her what else she wanted, but she thought on her feet and said a "Belle phone" -- as in Princess Belle from "Beauty and the Beast." Luke, meanwhile, asked for a [toy] computer and "Flo" from the Cars movie.
But after we left Santa, Luke threw a tantrum because he wanted the Flo right then. He didn't understand that he had to wait until Christmas for Santa to bring him what he had asked for. The same crying spell recurred that night before bed. Poor Luke was really confused -- he told Santa what he wanted but didn't have anything to show for it. I'm writing this post after Christmas, and I'm pleased to report that Luke and Bryn both got what they had requested, but Luke's favorite present is probably the race track for his Matchbox cars that he got from Nana and Papap.
Over the weekend we got our tree.

Just one week into the month of December, and we had made some terrific progress with respect to our holiday preparations, and it's a good thing, too, considering what struck us a week later...
