Yesterday we had a little party to decorate pre-made gingerbread houses. We invited the neighborhood girls -- Emily and Hannah, and Bryn and Luke each invited one friend from school. The party was based on Bryn's friend Poppy's schedule so that she would be sure to attend, and Luke invited Anika although after the invitation went out he said he wished Sasha could come. The kids seemed to have fun decorating their houses, for about 45 minutes. 
Then the behavior deteriorated. Part of the problem may have been mixing school friends with friends from the neighborhood. Regardless, I told B&L that next year we'd invite just one friend each. And I'm making another note for next year not to buy so many jelly bellies! [INSERT PICTURE OF FINISHED HOUSES]
