Decorating the Christmas Tree

It's Sunday, and Varner's Farm, which offers cut-your-own trees, isn't open, so instead I took Bryn and Luke to a tree stand not far from Ken's office -- in the parking lot of a shopping center. So we got peppermint hot chocolate from the Starbucks there.

The kids began their decorating at eye level. But then Ken got out the step ladder, and that added a whole new dimension of fun to decorating the tree.
I'm not sure whether getting the ladder out was a good idea or not. Bryn fell off of it at one point, and we lost two or three glass ornaments. (I had wisely reserved my favorite ornaments for my own hand once B&L had had their turn, so no harm done.) The finished tree looks great. Ta Da! Since we've decorated the tree, we've played multiple rounds of "find the pickle." And Luke is constantly rearranging the low-lying ornaments. I'm glad to have company in enjoying our Christmas tree.
