Camden Children's Garden

This past Sunday Ken had to work, so I took the kids to the Camden Children's Garden. I had never been before and had been meaning to check it out as it's right next to the Camden Aquarium. It served its purpose in terms of providing us with an alternative to our usual destinations (i.e., playgrounds, the zoo, Please Touch Museum), but I don't think it's necessarily worth a second trip. There's a merry-go-round, which the kids always enjoy, but there's also one in a better location at Franklin Square in the city. The kids did, however, get a kick out of this particular carousel as it features a shark. The garden has an outdoor butterfly garden, but as luck would have it, we didn't see any butterflies. The morning was incredibly hot, and the heat was definitely an issue; poor Luke sweats profusely, and I worry about having him outside when it's in the 90s and humid. The highlight for all of us was the little train that we rode -- complete with 25-cent train whistles -- no doubt the best deal in the city. Luckily for us, by the time we got home, Ken, too, was home.
