This morning Bryn and I went to the Academy of Natural Sciences. We had gone as a family of four about a year ago, but Bryn was too little to enjoy it. Since then she has acquired a book about dinosaurs, and has talked about them in school, too, so she really delighted in seeing their skeletons at the museum. Pretending to be a paleontologist, complete with goggles, chisel, and paintbrush, was right up her alley. We also spent time in the butterfly garden and listened to a bit of a live presentation on snakes. We ate lunch again at the new burrito place, then came home and transformed a shoebox into a mailbox, so for any of you reading this blog, please mail Bryn a postcard or letter. After picking Lukey up at school, we went straight to the pool. I hadn't yet brought both kids to the pool by myself. Luke's getting more comfortable in the water, too, and mimicking Bryn, so keeping an eye on both of them simultaneously when the pool is really busy can be a challenge; chit chatting with other moms is nearly impossible. Bryn was a good sport to play in the baby pool the whole time; she asked only once if she could go to the big pool by herself. (Luke's not allowed in the big pool this year since the management implemented a no-diaper policy in the main pool.) And since Daddy's away, it was the first time this year that we got bad-for-you food -- chicken fingers and pizza for B&L.
