In the afternoon we went to Doylestown where our friends Dave and Carolyn Moriarty live in a neat old farmhouse with a huge yard and pool. The kids had a terrific time swimming. Bryn is becoming a stronger swimmer with each day, and she revels in jumping into the pool all by herself. [Action shots follow.]

Fourth of July
In the morning we checked out the Fourth of July celebration in Narberth where they put on every year a fair with lots of kid-friendly games, pony rides, a moonbounce, etc. Ken and I threw darts at a wall of balloons, and Bryn tried her hand at several games, including one in which she tried (unsuccessfully) to toss three rolls of toilet paper into a potty decorated with stickers. I was really impressed that at every game consolation prizes were offered, so Bryn came home with a couple of plastic bracelets and some packs of trading cards. Bryn did, however, win the best prize at one booth when she shot a nerf ball out of a gun into one of the targets, so she's now the proud owner of a six-inch stuffed tiger. The big moonbounce was the highlight for Luke, who refused to get out when his turn had ended, so I had to go in after him!
Understandably, Luke began to lose his patience as we waited in lines so Bryn could try her hand at the games,
so we visited the moonbounce a second time before we left. Maybe next year we'll be able to catch the pie-eating contest.

Luke had just as much fun. He's been relegated to the baby pool all summer as diapers are no longer allowed in the main pool where we belong. The entire time we played in the Moriartys' pool, Luke tried to pry my fingers from around his belly; he thinks that he can swim all by himself!
