Sesame Place

Today Bryn and I and our friends Nancy, Abby and Matt Green went to Sesame Place, which is like Disney World only on a smaller scale and with water rides. It was absolutely terrific. Less crowded than Disney, Sesame Place is just big enough that you're not able to do everything in a single day but small enough that the park feels manageable. We started the morning with the dry rides, and each time we were able to walk right up to the start. We rode in Elmo's Flying Fish, identical to the Dumbo ride at Disney, and Blast Off, which felt like an elevator rising and dropping quickly. Bryn laughed during this ride, but it was enough to make my stomach feel queasy! After a couple more rides, we got a break from the heat by watching a live segment of "Elmo's World," and then lunch. After lunch we went into one of the pools and then tried Sky Splash, the only ride that required a wait (about 25 minutes.) In Sky Splash, the five of us rode in a raft-like tube through a water slide, and it was so much fun to watch Bryn smiling from ear to ear, laughing and squealing, too. Using words I've never heard her say before, Bryn exclaimed, "That was so exciting!" so we immediately went a second time. There were other rides we didn't get to, including a lazy river and a smaller water slide. Our admission ticket covers a second visit this season, so I'm hoping to take Bryn again in August. What a great day.
