Home Day

On our most recent home day together, Bryn and I went to a place in nearby Havertown called Kangaroo U. It provides some entertainment for kids -- giant inflatable slide, moon bounce, small arcade room, and rock-climbing wall. Ken had taken Bryn last January, but at the time she was too young for the rock-climbing wall. We went back to see how Bryn would fare this time around. She was interested in trying, but I think she needs another six months before she's really scaling the wall on her own. She asked me to hold her bottom as she struggled to find the footholds and the best way to pull herself up. Good for her, though, for trying.

After our short time (30 minutes) at Kangaroo U, we decorated Halloween sugar cookies that I had made the day before. We had tried this same project last year, but closer to three, Bryn's attention span was very short, and she thought out of the box when it came to choosing colors of frosting for the ghosts (purple), witches (orange), and pumpkins (black). This year Bryn attempted to spread some of the frosting herself, and she took charge of the sprinkles for the 3 dozen cookies. We've frozen some for Nana and Papap to enjoy when they come up in a couple of weeks. :)
