The New Please Touch Museum

This morning I took B&L to a Donors' Brunch at the new Please Touch Museum, which opens to the public this Saturday. Ken had been hoping to join us, but with the crazy turn of events over the past several weeks with respect to the financial markets, work precluded him from joining us. Our first order of business was locating our enscribed stone outside the front entrance. Bryn wanted to look for it again on the way out, so perhaps finding their names in the walkway will be a game we play each time we visit.
As for today's event, it felt as though we had the museum to ourselves; even the most sought-after attractions, including a couple of automated diggers, were available to B&L throughout the morning. We spent most of our time in a room that I hadn't even noticed the night of the opening gala -- the "program room," where children can undertake a craft project or explore whatever has been put out on tables -- play dough, blocks, etc. Today the museum offered self face painting, and Luke got really into it! As it turns out, Luke's skin seems to be as sensitive as Bryn's, so I don't think we'll be doing much face painting in the future. Bryn rode the carousel all by herself, but surprisingly, Luke, who hasn't been feeling 100%, didn't want to go. Both Bryn and Luke were interested in revisiting the first exhibit that you come across as you enter the museum -- with cars to sit in and buttons to push, Septa bus, diggers, etc. We did venture downstairs briefly as Bryn requested that we go to the "grocery store." There's too much of the museum too see in one day, however, so we'll save some of the new exhibits, including the "shoe store" and "baby nursery" for when Nana and Papap come to visit next week.
