After some chilly days, the weather cooperated for Halloween, and the temperature climbed into the 60s. The kids' school has an annual parade in the parking lot, and I debated not going because I knew Luke would cry upon seeing me -- Bryn reacted the same way when she was two. But Bryn said she wanted me to come, and though I was right about Luke's reaction, I'm glad I went. It seemed as though there weren't as many spectating parents this year, and that may have been because the parade honoring the world champion Phillies was downtown in the early afternoon. The video clips on the blog are so small I'm afraid the only benefit this second video provides is showing Luke (last in line) in his spider costume.
Thanks, Nana!
In the evening Ken outfitted himself in all black and wrapped a knotted cord around himself -- the web to Luke's spider, and took the kids trick-or-treating. Luke didn't want to get his picture taken as they set off for the evening, but here's how they traveled -- complete with flashlight and monogrammed candy bags.
